A couple in their 80s who were involved in a road accident in Peterborough have died in hospital.

Cambridgeshire Police said a silver Ford Kuga and a white DAF lorry collided on the roundabout on the A1139 Fletton Parkway, at the junction with Boongate, at about 11:20 GMT on 9 March.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the car, Graham Tabbitt, 81, and his wife Virginia, 80, both from Whittlesey, were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries. Both died over the weekend of 21 March, the force said.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured and remained at the scene to help officers with their enquiries.

The force has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage to contact them.
