Arrest over fatal crash between car and lorry

A man has been arrested after another man died in a crash between a car and a lorry on the A16.

The collision happened near Newborough, north of Peterborough, just before 08:30 BST on Thursday.

The driver of the silver Vauxhall Corsa, aged in his 30s and from Peterborough, was pronounced dead at the scene, Cambridgeshire Police said.

A 52-year-old man, from London, has been released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving when under the influence of drugs.

Police have appealed for information and dashcam footage from anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or the vehicles in the time leading up to it.
