A 69-year-old has been released on bail after being arrested for a second time on suspicion of murdering Carol Clark.

The man was first detained over Clark's death in April 2023 and remained under investigation before being arrested again on Tuesday. Earlier, Gloucestershire Police confirmed it had notified Clark's family that he had since been released on bail.

Clark, 32, was last seen alive getting into a Volvo car in Picton Street in the Montpelier area of Bristol at about 23:30 GMT on 26 March 1993.

Her body was found in reeds at the side of the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal less than two days later. She had been strangled and her neck had been broken.
