Water supply problems in part of western Lincolnshire "should now be back to normal" after a problem at a treatment plant.

Anglian Water said on Monday morning that about 3,000 of its customers in Grantham and surrounding areas were affected.

A spokesperson said: "We are sorry some customers in Grantham, Byard's Leap and Allington areas may have had low water pressure or no water at all.

"The water may look a little cloudy or discoloured, [but] if they run their tap for a short while this should clear."

The company said cloudy water was caused by "millions of tiny air bubbles".

Water bottles were handed out to affected customers throughout Monday night, and tankers were used to inject water into the mains across the area.
