Rain disrupts Mountain Road resurfacing works
BBCThe planned reopening of a major route linking the capital with the north of the Isle of Man has been pushed back by at least a day due to delays to maintenance caused by poor weather conditions.
The Department of Infrastructure said torrential rain on parts of the A18 Mountain Road had disrupted the resurfacing project.
It was now planned to complete remaining works by Friday, it said, with the time needed for the asphalt to cure and lines to be repainted pushing the reopening of the road back to Saturday afternoon.
However, the department warned the new timeframe was "very much weather dependent" and said a further update would be issued on Friday.
The closure, which has also seen tree felling on the northern section of the road and the positioning of signage and equipment ahead of the TT races, came in to force on 7 April.
