Teen, 15, denies murder of 16-year-old schoolboy
Family handoutA teenage boy accused of stabbing a 16-year-old boy to death has pleaded not guilty to his murder.
The boy, 15, who cannot be named for legal reasons and is charged with the murder of Shayne Hambakachere, appeared at Bristol Crown Court earlier.
Shayne, a Year 11 schoolboy, was found with stab wounds on London Road in Chippenham, Wiltshire on 31 January. He was later taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he died.
Judge Anna Richardson told the defendant he would remain in youth detention ahead of his trial which is scheduled to begin on 10 August.
Richardson told the court that "everyone involved" in the case wanted to see its resolution "without delay."
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
'Brave and bold'
Shayne's father Emmanuel Hambakachere previously told the BBC his son "had so much" to look forward to, including his 17th birthday in June.
"Shayne was a brave and bold young man, he was never afraid to speak his mind or to stand up for what he believed in," he added.
He also said Shayne had hoped to one day become a bricklayer and had planned to visit Wiltshire College just days after his death.
At the time of his death, flowers and tributes were left at Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, where Shayne was a pupil.
In a statement, the school said it was "deeply saddened by the tragic loss".
"We are taking the time to remember this wonderful young person who had such a promising life ahead and to support our whole community in coming to terms with his loss and this tragic event," it added.
