A 71-year old man accused of causing the death of another man by careless driving has been found not guilty.

Miroslaw Szczypek died after he was found injured in College Road, Doncaster, near to the main police station in the early hours of 15 August 2023.

Mohammad Shabir was subsequently arrested and accused of hitting Szczypek in a black 2010 Mercedes while driving without due care and attention, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Shabir, of Highfield Road, Doncaster, pleaded not guilty to the charge and was acquitted by a jury at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday.
