Annual church beer festival to return to city
Hull MinsterAn annual beer festival featuring 14 breweries will return to a city church later this week.
The Hull Minster Beer Festival, now in its sixth year, takes place from 23 to 25 April.
Attendees can vote for their favourite brewery as part of the event, which also includes food provided by the church's Trinity Room cafe and music by local bands and artists.
Lauren Jackson, events manager for Hull Minster, said: "Our beer festival is one of the highlights of our events calendar, so I'm over the moon to be able to bring it back again this year."
Jackson added: "It is one of the biggest income generators for us, helping us keep the doors to Hull Minster open to the public all year round."
Speaking on BBC Radio Humberside, Jon Major, from the minster, said: "We do panic but in the last few days it has all come together, we've got a great team.
"We decided to take it on after Covid. We invite the breweries and they interact with the customers and explain all about the beers."
Two sessions will take place on Thursday and Friday from 12:00 until 17:00 and 17:00 until 22:00 BST.
On Saturday, the event will take place from 12:00 until 17:00.
The event was first staged in 2021 following the cancellation of a previous festival due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Tickets can be purchased on the minster's website with some available on the door and entry includes a free festival guide and glass.
