Murder charge after man dies outside cocktail bar

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 41-year-old man outside a cocktail bar.

Police were called to reports of an assault outside MyBar in Charminster Road, Bournemouth, at about 03:00 BST on Monday. James Blanch, from Christchurch, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rico Wilson, 35, who is from Bournemouth, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court charged with murder earlier. He was remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday.

Three men - aged 37 and 46 from Bournemouth, and 34 from Poole - who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder have all been released under investigation.

A 39-year-old arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender from Bournemouth has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Police cordons put in place have now been lifted, with officers expected to remain in the area over the coming days.
