The M25 in Essex was closed clockwise after a crash involving three lorries caused a fuel spillage.

The road was shut between junction 27 for the M11 and junction 28 for the A12, near Brentwood.

The crash was first reported at 03:00 GMT, according to the traffic system Inrix.

National Highway said it was closed for most of the day while emergency resurfacing work was carried out, but it reopened at about 16:20.
