Crash shuts A12 southbound causing long delays

Drivers faced long delays after traffic was stopped on the A12 in Essex due to a crash.

Motorists were held on the southbound carriageway between junction 19 for Boreham and junction 18 for Sandon, near Chelmsford, National Highways said. The road has now cleared.

Essex Police and Essex County Fire & Rescue Service were at the scene, it added.

Drivers faced delays of up to 45 minutes and four miles of congestion.
