Boy 'critical' after crash involving car and bike

A boy riding a bicycle has sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash with a car, police have said.

It happened on Hockley Road in Tamworth at about 17:30 GMT on Thursday.

The Staffordshire force said the boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance and remained in a critical condition. The driver of the car, a vehicle described as a blue Vauxhall Corsa, was uninjured.
