Teenager arrested on suspicion of rape

Police are investigating an incident near Arnold Street in Lowestoft

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

Suffolk Police said it was in connection with a reported incident near Arnold Street in Lowestoft at about 0:010 BST on Sunday.

The teenager, who is from Lowestoft, was taken to a police station in Great Yarmouth for questioning.

The force said a woman in her 20s is being supported by specialist officers. Officers have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
