A man has been arrested and charged after a cannabis farm was discovered in Peterhead.

The cultivation, which has an estimated value of around £587,250, was found on Sunday within a building on Narrow Lane.

The 42-year-old man was due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday.

He said: "This seizure underlines our commitment to the serious organised crime taskforce and the country's serious organised crime strategy.

"Drugs cause misery and we are committed to removing them from our local communities."
