BBCA man has admitting killing his neighbour but denies murder.
Andrew Greengrass, 36, of Foundry Road, Stamford, was charged with the murder of Nigel Booth, 67, after he was found seriously injured in a first-floor flat on Foundry Road at about 01:00 BST on 21 October. He later died from his injuries.
Greengrass appeared at Lincoln Crown Court earlier, where he pleaded not guilty to Booth's murder, but admitted manslaughter.
He will stand trial for murder at the same court on 7 April. It is expected to last two weeks.
There was no application for bail and Greengrass was remanded back into custody until his next court appearance.
