Emergency cable repairs shut part of main road
Kirsty KnightA section of a main road in Peterborough has been shut for repairs following a power cut.
UK Power Networks said engineers are currently making repairs to an underground cable in Oundle Road, in Peterborough.
The issue was first reported on Friday, with one household still affected. The power firm said a mobile generator was supplying electricity while repairs took place.
The section of road, near the Gordon Arms pub in Orton Longueville, remained closed.
A spokesperson for the Power Network said once the cable repairs are finished, the road is expected to be resurfaced on Thursday, before it can reopen.
