Getty ImagesA woman has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and burglary after a fire at a flat in North Yorkshire.
The blaze started at a property on Woodbine Close in Great Ayton at around 06:15 BST on Wednesday, but no-one was injured.
North Yorkshire Police would not give the name or the age of the woman they have charged, but said she was due to appear at York Magistrates' Court on Thursday morning.
Det Sgt Tom Barker said: "While we are investigating this fire as arson and may be of concern to local people, thankfully no injuries have been reported and I am satisfied that it does appear to be an isolated incident and the wider public are not impacted."
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the blaze caused "100% fire damage" to the flat as well as smoke damage to the flat above.
