A man has died after suffering serious injuries when he came off the motorcycle he was riding in Huddersfield.

The biker, believed by police to be 42 years old, was travelling on a red Honda motorcycle on the A641 Bradford Road towards Bradley Roundabout at about 19:40 BST on Monday when the incident happened.

No other vehicles were thought to have been involved, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

Det Sgt Nina Roper said: "We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision and, as part of this, we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or the events leading up to it."

Anyone who was in the area at the time was also asked to check their CCTV or dashcam to see if they had footage of the motorcycle around the time of the incident, Roper added.

The man had not yet been formally identified but his family had been informed, the force spokesperson said.
