Boy seriously hurt in collision between car and bike

An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision between a car and a bike in Hinckley.

Leicestershire Police said it was called at 17:45 GMT on Wednesday to reports of a crash in Olympic Way.

The force said at 01:45 on Thursday that the road had reopened after it was closed for several hours.

Officers said no arrests had been made and inquiries were continuing.

Correction 9 March 2026: A previous version of this story reported that the car had hit the bicycle, but police have confirmed the circumstances of the crash are still under investigation.
