Watch: Thousands flock to seaside motorcycle event
Video showed crowds gathered on a sunny seafront as thousands of motorcyclists took part in an annual event.
Southend Shakedown sees riders park along Western Esplanade, which is then closed to allow pedestrians to wander among the bikes.
Many of the participants travelled to Essex in convoy from London, heading up the A127 and A13, with some telling the BBC it was a great occasion to showcase the biker community.
Southend-on-Sea City Council said it was expecting "a strong boost to the local economy" from the event, which it organises with ACE Cafe London.
