Spitfire lands at Southampton Airport for anniversary

A Spitfire has landed at Southampton Airport as part of the 90th anniversary celebrations for the iconic World War Two fighter aircraft.

The aircraft has staged flights across Great Britain, to mark 90 years since the Spitfire's first test flight at Eastleigh Aerodrome, now Southampton International Airport.

It was painted in the colour K5054, in honour of the first Spitfire, and has been on a series on nine flights in partnership with the Royal Air Force.

Shortly after the Spitfire landed, a Dakota World War Two military transport aircraft, also landed in Southampton.
