Famous Lyme Regis fossil hunter 'sick' of fossils

Famous fossil hunter Mary Anning admitted she sometimes felt fed up of fossils, saying the word sometimes made her "sick".

In letters recently found from the 19th Century, the paleontologist said she was "worn out" from her job.

The letters are being auctioned off, with Lyme Regis Museum hoping to raise £10,000 to keep the in her home town.

Anning is now known as one of the most prolific paleontologists, though not recognised in her time because she was a woman and her low social status.
