Pigs

Researchers say there are "tensions" around whether they are a pest or should be left to roam free.

Percy, a miniature black-and-white Juliana cross piglet, is able to sit, twirl and walk on a lead.

The pig was seen walking down main roads in Poolstock, in Wigan, earlier.

"I'm used to catching dogs, but a pig is a different story," says a warden.

Some residents claim the pigs are "spoiling" the countryside and a long-distance footpath.

Firefighters responded to reports of a farm shed on fire at the Fyfin Road area of Newtownstewart.

Hundreds of pigs are turned out onto the New Forest to eat acorns that are poisonous to ponies.
