The two-week long festival of Chinese New Year began on 17 February to mark the Year of the Fire Horse.

The Year of the Fire Horse is being celebrated by millions across Asia from Beijing to Bangkok.

Parades, workshops and traditional activities will be taking place across the region to mark the Year of the Horse in the Chinese zodiac.

Festivities will take place in Cathedral Square on Monday, organisers say.

The Birmingham event features traditional performances, market stalls and a firework finale.

An expert identified the two porcelain pieces as rare Chinese works from the 19th Century.
