BBC Guernsey to host three by-election debates

BBC Radio Guernsey will host three on-air debates, where islanders can ask the questions, in the run up to polling day on 29 April.

All eleven candidates have agreed to take part in the programmes which will take place between 09:00 and 10:00 BST on 21, 22 and 23 April, hosted by Tim Hunter at breakfast.

Before the debate political reporter John Fernandez will be hitting the road for an election roadshow in Market Square on the morning of 17 April, where he will be hearing your views on the big by-election issues.

If you want to put questions to candidates you can record them at Market Square on 17 April or send them to the studio via WhatsApp on 08000321333.

On 21 April, four candidates will take part in the first debate:

  • Luke Graham
  • Rob Harnish
  • Sam Haskins
  • Julie-Anne Headington of Forward Guernsey

On 22 April, four candidates will take part in the second debate:

  • Ross Le Brun
  • Carl Meerveld
  • Tamara Menteshvili
  • Stephen Rouxel

On 23 April, three candidates will take part in the third debate:

  • Nikki Symons
  • Andy Taylor
  • Jonathan Wilson

The candidates were offered places on the programmes in alphabetical order.

On election night the count will start after the polls close and a result is expected before midnight.
