A gas main was ruptured in a car crash in Lincolnshire, prompting the evacuation of a number of properties.

The incident, involving a single vehicle, happened in Lincoln Road, Boothby Graffoe, at about 21:45 GMT on Sunday.

Lincolnshire Police said nearby homes had to be evacuated for several hours as a result of the collision, and the A607 was closed at the junction with the B1202 until the early hours.

The force said a man in his 20s had been arrested in connection with the crash.
