Man dies in suspected hit-and-run near pub

A man has died in a suspected hit-and-run, Lancashire Police have said.

It happened just after 22:00 BST on Wednesday near to the Nag's Head pub on Blackburn Road in Accrington.

The man, who was in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died, the force said.

Officers said the car, a VW Passat, failed to stop at the scene and was later found abandoned on Barden Road. No arrests have been made.
