An officer who suffered critical injuries in a crash at a Kent village remains in hospital in a serious condition, police have said.

A spokesperson for Kent Police has said the officer, who is continuing to receive medical attention, was in the same vehicle as PC Bradley Corke, who died on 21 March after the crash.

Both officers were responding to an emergency call on 19 March.

Police added the incident, which involved a marked Ford Focus police car and a VW Scirocco, happened on the westbound A20 London Road at the junction with Button Street, Farningham.

The family of PC Bradley Corke described him as a "true gentleman" and said he was proud to serve as a Kent Police officer

Corke, who was from Hastings, was 27 years old when he died.

His family described him as a "true gentleman" and "one of the finest young men ever to have walked this earth".

They added he was proud to serve as an officer for Kent Police.

Corke was also an avid Seagulls fan, with the Brighton & Hove Albion also paying their tributes to him.

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood told the Commons last month she wanted to pay her respects to the officer who "sadly lost his life in the line of duty".
