Woman arrested after death of car passenger

A woman has been arrested after a passenger in the car she was driving died in a collision.

Essex Police said the crash took place in Northern Approach, Colchester, at 06:30 BST.

A passenger in the car, a 37-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver, a 37-year-old woman from Maldon, Essex, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, and possession of a Class B drug.

Witnesses to the incident have been asked to contact the police.
