A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Chesterfield.

Derbyshire Police said it received reports of a teenager being assaulted by another teenager in Storrs Road just before 15:20 BST on Friday.

The force said the 16-year-old was taken to hospital with a stab wound, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers added a 14-year-old boy who was detained remained in police custody.

Chatsworth Road was closed from the junction with Storrs Road to the Morrisons roundabout, the force said, with people asked to avoid the area while investigations continued.

Officers said they would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident as well as anyone driving in the area at the time who had dashcam footage.
