An investigation into the cause of a blaze at a car dealership has begun, a fire service says.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said seven fire engines were sent to the incident at the Mercedes car garage in Mill Road, Canterbury at about 05:30 GMT on Friday.

Nearby residents had been asked to close their doors and windows due to heavy smoke in the area, but this advice has now been lifted.

No injuries were reported and all crews have now left the scene, the fire service added.

Kent Police said it was also in attendance, alongside UK Power Networks.
