Cordon near main road as police investigate rape

A cordon has been set up off a main road in Gosport as police investigate a reported rape.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said a woman, aged 47, reported being attacked close to Bury Road, the B3333 on Tuesday at about 00:45 BST.

The force said officers were carrying out initial enquiries to establish what happened and the victim was being supported by specially trained officers.

Police remain at the scene and urged anyone with information to come forward. The force said no arrests had been made.
