Police appeal after pedestrian hit by van

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a van in Oakham.

Leicestershire Police said officers were called to High Street, near to the junction with Church Street, at 13:55 GMT on Wednesday.

The pedestrian - a woman in her 60s - remains in hospital with serious injuries, the force said.

The driver of a white Ford Transit van, which was travelling towards Catmose Street at the time, was not injured, added police.

Anyone with any information or who has any CCTV or dashcam footage showing what happened has been urged to contact police.
