Councillors asked to back plans for new homes on former RAF site

Councillors have been asked to approve plans for 94 homes on former RAF land in Lewis.

Developer Calmax has proposed a phased development of semi-detached houses near Stornoway Airport.

Work has already started on 34 properties on part of the site.

A meeting of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is due to consider the latest plans. Objections to the project include that the land is not zoned for housing.
