Paramedics were called at about 11:40 to the scene on the Elie Chainwalk.
The route, which leads to the town of Elie, involves walkers scrambling along a cliff with the help of steel chains attached to the rock face.
The Scottish Ambulance Service said it took one patient to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.
The chainwalk can be a dangerous route as it becomes submerged when the tide comes in.
Anstruther Lifeboat Station has published times on when it is safe to walk the route.
