A fire that destroyed a school building is being treated as arson.

Crews from Devon and Somerset Fire Service were called to King Edward VI Community College, on Ashburton Road, in Totnes, at about 00:15 BST on Sunday and alerted police at 00:50.

Devon & Cornwall Police said no injuries relating to the fire have been reported, it was being treated as arson and urged anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact them.

The principal of the college said the building was used as changing room and staff were working "swiftly to ensure there is no disruption to our students when they return to school next week".
