Man arrested after motorcyclist seriously injured

A man has been arrested after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a van.

The crash happened on the A281 Alfold By‑Pass in Cranleigh at about 11:45 BST on Thursday, Surrey Police said.

The van driver, a 24‑year‑old man from Crawley, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road opened at 19:00.

Surrey Police said officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area between 11:30 and 11:45, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage from that time.
