Music lovers queue for hours for Record Store Day
Ali Timson / BBCMusic lovers from across the South East were among those queueing in the early hours to grab exclusive vinyls on Record Store Day.
More than 300 shops across the UK and Ireland have taken part in this year's global event, with hundreds of artists releasing titles exclusively available in-store.
John Ashby, of Gatefield Sounds in Whitstable, said the day was "crucial for the industry" with many people now tending to buy their records online.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "It brings in a lot of people who might not buy records in the high street."
Ali Timson / BBCVinyl-lovers in Dorking, Surrey, began queueing outside Spin Sounds in South Street, from as early as 04:00 BST, to get hold of their chosen records when the shop opened at 08:00.
Store owner Lee White said people were "nervous to know if they get what they want", with only a limited supply of some of the most popular records.
Meanwhile, in West Sussex, Jason Pollard, of Future Audio in East Grinstead, said Taylor Swift had been one of the most popular artists of the day.
On his own musical taste, he said: "My mother was a big influence on me. She had records at the time and we played them when we were children.
"I like to be able to sit down and put a record on - I usually put one on while I'm cooking to just enjoy it with my family."
