Arrest after schoolgirl sexually assaulted
GoogleA man in his 20s has been arrested after a secondary schoolgirl was sexually assaulted, police say.
Avon and Somerset Police was called to West Town Lane in Brislington, Bristol, to reports that a girl was sexually touched at about 10:30 GMT on 17 March.
A man has since been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has been released on bail.
Sgt Chris Downham added that the investigation was still ongoing into the "deeply upsetting" incident.
He said: "Specialist detectives are leading this investigation and ensuring the victim has access to any support services she needs.
"A decision was made to arrest one man so we could interview him under caution, which provided him with an opportunity to share any information he had that might be relevant to our enquiries."
Any witnesses have been urged to contact police.
