Woman in critical condition after house stabbing

A woman is in a critical condition after she was stabbed at a house on Friday night, police have said.

The victim, in her 20s, was discovered by emergency services on Greenwood Street, Oldham, at about 22:40 GMT, Greater Manchester Police added.

She was taken to hospital where she remains critically ill.

Police said no arrests had been made yet but appealed for information.

Ch Insp Ian Partington said: "This was a shocking incident of violence and our thoughts remain with the victim at this incredibly difficult time."

He added there were extra police patrols in the area.
