Five people, including three boys, have been charged in connection with a machete attack that left two teenagers injured.

Two boys, aged 14 and 15, were taken to hospital - one with life-changing injuries - while another 15-year-old was punched in the attack on Stratford Road in Shirley, near Solihull, at around 21:00 GMT on 7 February.

Three teenagers - two aged 14 and one 15 - are accused of two counts of wounding and violent disorder.

Naveed Khalily, 43, and Sadia Khan, 43, have also been charged with perverting the court of justice. A boy, 16, who was previously accused of attempted murder, assault, and possession of a bladed article remains in custody, West Midlands Police said.

The boys are due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on 21 April, while Khalily and Khan, both of Linton Avenue, Solihull, are expected to appear before the court in May.

Three other teenagers remain on police bail while inquiries continue.

Det Insp Stewart Lewis said: "This is a significant step forward in our investigation, which is continuing.

"I would again like to thank the public for their help and support with our enquiries, as the information we've received from the community has been helpful.

"If anyone has information and has not yet spoken to us, please get in touch."
