Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to a property on Milton Avenue, Melksham, on Saturday

A woman says she is "completely heartbroken" after her home was damaged by fire.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the blaze, on Milton Avenue, Melksham, on Saturday evening, with the first floor and roof space of the building, which contained two flats, on fire.

Amelia Webster, who lived in one of the flats, said she was "very upset" to have her home "taken away" by the blaze.

Webster said "we put every penny we had into that place, we tried for years to live in Melksham... [it was] meant to be our home [and] we are completely heartbroken".

The fire service said one person was given first aid at the scene by firefighters before being left in the care of the ambulance service.

Four pumping appliances attended the scene, along with an aerial ladder.

Crews left the scene at 08:00 BST on Sunday, the service added.

The Grapes pub in Melksham has offered to be a hub for people to drop off donations to help those needing clothes and food as a result of the fire.
