Two arrested after man dies in suspected hit-and-run
GoogleTwo men have been arrested after a man's body was discovered in a Warwickshire road following a suspected hit-and-run incident, police said.
The victim, in his 50s, was discovered on Monk's Park Lane in Atherstone, just after 01:30 BST on Friday.
Warwickshire Police said its main line of inquiry was that a vehicle had hit the man and left the scene.
A 23-year-old man from Nuneaton and a 74-year-old man from Shifnal, in Shropshire, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
The pair have since been bailed while inquiries continue.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact.
PC Craig Pearson said: "I'm especially keen to speak to anyone who saw or has video footage of a red Mercedes Vito van in the area around the time of the incident.
"I'd ask anyone in the area to please check CCTV, doorbell cameras and dashcam footage.
"Our thoughts are with the family of the man who lost his life, they are currently being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer."
