Google MapsResidents are being consulted on plans for a new 73-bed care home in Shepshed.
Applicant Crown Care Group submitted plans for the home on the existing site of the 31-bed Westroyd House Care Home located off Tickow Lane in the town in Leicestershire.
The group wants to demolish the existing care home, which is made up of two separate buildings, to allow for the new home.
Documents submitted to Charnwood Borough Council on behalf of the applicant said the current home was "outdated".
Acanthus WSM Architects said: "Our clients wish is to provide a new modern care home on the site, which would meet all current day standards and regulations, significantly improving on the current accommodation within the existing home."
It said there was "demand for additional care" in the town.
Documents stated 23 new parking spaces would be built as part of the plans including two disabled bays.
The consultation on the plans is set to run until 23 April.
