The inflatable play park will be in the former PureGym and Play XL in Grimsby town centre

An inflatable play park is among new additions being proposed in the centre of Grimsby.

The indoor facility would be in the town's Riverhead units, on Frederick Ward Way, which have been vacant for two years and it would also have an accompanying cafe.

A certificate of lawfulness planning application has been sent to North East Lincolnshire Council by the applicant, Pinz Bowling Ltd, to seek permission for its proposals.

Jagdeep Bhullar, of Gurmehar Properties Ltd and owner of the Riverhead units, said the facility would be in units 1-3 and he was "due to sign the lease by the end of this week".

The units were formally home to PureGym and PlayXL - a gym and play centre.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS), the application states that it would be a family play park, with more than 30 tables and four seats each in the cafe.

An area on both the ground and first floors has been marked as "Arcade", according to submitted drawings.

Bhullar told the LDRS that a tenant was also looking to open a restaurant in unit four, and unit 5a will open next month as a children's nursery.
