Car seized in fly-tipping investigation
Lichfield District CouncilA car suspected of being involved in fly-tipping in Lichfield has been seized.
Lichfield District Council said fly-tipped waste was found on land opposite the junction of Eastern Avenue and Curborough Road on 8 March.
Environmental officers used evidence from the waste and reviewed CCTV to match items to those seen being loaded into the vehicle.
On 27 March, they seized a grey Nissan Note from a car park at Streethay Local Shopping Centre at about 17:50 GMT.
"Fly-tipping is a serious crime that will not be tolerated in Lichfield District," said councillor Richard Cox, cabinet member for community and public protection.
"Our officers seized this vehicle last Friday suspecting it had been used to dump waste in the city.
"They will continue their investigations and look to prosecute those responsible."
