Detectives probe suspicious death of woman found on street

Officers were called to Cardowan Road, Carntyne, at about 04:00

Detectives are treating the death of a woman on a Glasgow street as suspicious.

Police Scotland were called to Cardowan Road, in the Carntyne area of the city, at about 04:00.

Officers said the injured woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Det Insp Gordon Walker said: "Her death is being treated as suspicious and an investigation is under way."

He added that additional officers were on patrol in the area and urged anyone with concerns to approach them.
