Firefighters have warned people to avoid part of York following a "significant incident" at a car dealership near the LNER Community Stadium.

Crews from Acomb, Huntington, Tadcaster and Harrogate were called to Stoneacre Motor Group on Jockey Lane during York City FC's win over Altrincham, with clouds of thick black smoke seen rising from the garage.

A spokesperson for the fire service said it received a lot of calls from supporters leaving the ground after the match.

People nearby were urged to keep their doors and windows closed while the incident remained ongoing.
