A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of another man who was found with serious injuries on a Birmingham road.

The 27 year-old man was discovered on Mott Street shortly after 00:30 BST on Monday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, West Midlands Police said a 38 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in custody.

The force said their initial inquiries suggested the man who died had been hit by a vehicle, and a car suspected of being involved was recovered and was being examined.

They added that the death was believed to be an isolated case but officers remained in the area to provide reassurance.

Detectives also appealed for people with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.

Three other men, aged 25, 26, and 34, were also arrested, in their cases on suspicion of assisting an offender. They likewise remained in custody, the force said.
