Two pedestrians have been hit and injured by a police vehicle.

Cumbria Police had been responding to an unrelated incident just before 18:00 BST when the vehicle hit two people on Senhouse Street in Maryport.

Two pedestrians were taken to hospital for treatment with one transported by air ambulance, the force said.

The road was closed and police advised people to avoid the area.
